Project Name
& Location:
The San Antonio Mission Parkway Visitor Information Center
San Antonio, Texas

Project Owner: The National Park Service

Construction Cost: $8.7 million

Project Description: Saldana & Associates was commissioned by the National Park Service to design the structure from Schematic Design to Design Development and then through Working Drawings as a consultant specializing in historical structures. The structure is located adjacent to the San Jose Mission Historical Compound and therefore had to be designed with a great deal of sensitivity in terms of use of materials, scale and orientation. The Architect coordinated all design efforts with the State Historic Preservation Office, the local Historic Review Board, the San Antonio Conservation Society and Los Compadres Mission Preservation Group.
